Description
The Vial of Life or Vial of L.I.F.E. (Lifesaving Information For Emergencies) is a program which allows individuals to provide medical information in advance that can be used by emergency personnel in the case of an emergency. The Vial of Life program is sponsored by Sawyer County Ambulance. Stop by the store for free vial of life forms, vials and door stickers.
The vial of life program consists of #1: A Vial (empty pill bottle or other container), labeled with a #2: Vial of Life Sticker, and #3: A Medical Information form. You fill out the medical information form to tell the first responders or EMT's about your health status, medications, allergies and other important information. This information is critically important especially when you are not able to communicate with the EMT's. The form is placed in the vial. The vial is placed in the refrigerator, usually recommended to be on the top shelf of the door, because it has been shown that the refrigerator's contents are preserved in the event of a fire. Stickers are placed in the front window of the home so that responding emergency personnel will know to look for the Vial. Help us help you. |
